| Collection Instructions: | Patient should fast for 8 hours prior to collection, unless instructed differently by physician. Invert EDTA (lavender) tube 5 to 10 times immediately after filling. Allow SST (gold) specimen to completely clot (this can take up to 60 minutes). Centrifuge for 15 minutes as soon as the specimen is clotted. |
